A complete roof garden on a private residence in Voorschoten, where structural constraints were addressed through clever design solutions.
The owner wanted a green roof terrace, but the structure could not accommodate point loads. Jungle Blocks solve this by distributing the weight evenly across the entire surface, without requiring any modifications to the underlying structure.
The result is a fully-fledged elevated garden, comprising 9 Jungle Blocks with individual trees, shrubs and bespoke Jungle Blocks, complemented by 5 Jungle Pots. The maximum saturated weight of 416 kg per block provides the necessary stability against wind loads at roof level.
The planting is arranged in layers: trees such as the elm, willow, rowan and lime have been added to the overall roof garden.
