A complete roof garden on a private residence in Voorschoten, where structural constraints were addressed through clever design solutions.

The owner wanted a green roof terrace, but the structure could not accommodate heavy weight. Jungle Blocks® solve this through application of our lightweight Jungle Mix®, and the structure material, without requiring any modifications to the underlying structure.

The result is a fully-fledged elevated garden, comprising 9 Jungle Blocks with individual trees, shrubs, and plants, complemented by 5 Jungle Pots. The maximum saturated weight of 250kg per block provides the necessary stability against wind loads at roof level.

The planting is arranged in layers: trees such as the elm, willow, rowan and lime have been added to the overall roof garden.
