THE URBAN WOODS, DELFT
This project marks our very first fully custom Jungle Blocks project, from concept and design to production and installation. The rooftop garden was entirely built using LEGO-style custom modules. Each Jungle Block was custom designed for the architectural layout, allowing us to create a unique green landscape, with maximum design flexibility.
The result? A complete rooftop garden installed in just one day fully modular, lightweight, and built for urban environments where traditional green solutions often fall short.
The Urban Woods is one of the first biobased timber buildings in The Netherlands. In 2023, The Urban Woods started to construct its first residential complexes in Delft, designed with wooden circular innovations to lower its carbon footprint, and smart technology to save energy and water.
The challenge for us? Transforming the rooftop into a biodiverse space that retains rainwater and brings down heat. We were lucky to bring this vision to life by creating a true Urban Jungle that literally gives the surroundings room to breathe.
The Urban Woods embodies our vision of connecting nature and technology. These innovative wooden buildings are designed not to reduce nature and biodiversity after construction, but to actively enhance them.
