JAN DE NUL, AALST

We have successfully transformed the rooftop garden at the Jan De Nul headquarters in Aalst, Belgium using 3 Urban Trees. This project contributes directly to the large scale sustainability efforts and aesthetic upgrade of the new officebuildings.

The complexity of this project lay in navigating the roof's limited load-bearing capacity while fulfilling the vision of creating a functional, interactive space for employees and events. The solution was found in a meticulously designed planting scheme featuring the Sycoparrotia semidecidua. This semi-evergreen tree retains its foliage year-round, shedding old leaves only when new buds emerge in spring. This ensures a vibrant, green appearance for the roof terrace throughout the entire year.
