DUTCH EMBASSY, BERLIN

Modular Urban Greening on a Diplomatic Courtyard

A piece of authentic Dutch landscape, placed at the heart of the German capital. With the installation of six Jungle Blocks® on the courtyard of the Dutch Embassy in Berlin, we delivered a greening project that makes a difference - both ecologically and spatially.

The project directly supports the ambition of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make its diplomatic posts nature-inclusive - a tangible step towards greener Dutch representation abroad.

Bespoke design for a challenging location
The south-facing entrance sits largely in the shade due to the surrounding buildings - a challenge that called for a well-considered green concept. Through custom-engineered connectors, the Jungle Blocks® were configured to precisely match the requirements of the site. The result: a vital green installation that significantly enhances biodiversity on the courtyard, even without direct sunlight.

From transit space to meeting place
Beyond its ecological value, the design is decisively functional. The addition of seating elements transformed the entrance from a neutral transit route into an inspiring place where visitors and staff come together. Green you can feel.
