Urban Mole.Monitoring soil conditions, visualising the invisible.

Moisture is of vital importance for healthy plant growth. A trained eye will easily identify plants that suffer from drought, but (trained) eyes aren’t always present to constantly monitor plant health and preventing stress conditions is always better than curing them.

The Urban Mole is an off-grid sensor station, allowing up to four capacitive sensors to report soil conditions like moisture and temperature remotely. The communication protocol relies on LoraWAN through gateway access, enabling communication without subscription fees. The Urban Moles comes with a solar panel to ensure ongoing functionality without battery replacement. Data is available for analyses through an interactive dashboard powered by our partner Blockbax and accessible on both mobile and desktop devices. Alerts can be set to ensure your plants will never have dry feet!
