When the architect planned a roof garden for the residents of the newly developed flats on top of a shoe shop in Alphen aan den Rijn, he did not take into account the limited carrying capacity of the existing building to support the weight of mature trees. Our Urban Trees and Jungle Boxes proved to be a welcome solution: the result is a beautiful roof garden in the centre of Alphen aan den Rijn. 

Residents enter their homes via the roof garden, but not only they benefit from this green oasis. Birds, bees and butterflies are also attracted by the plants on the roof. No one feels more at home than mother duck that hatch her eggs on the roof every spring, which is why the owners use a cardboard box to release the chicks into a nearby canal.
